Gautam was born on 3rd December, 1949. His father Late Kartick Chandra Paul was also a sculptor and mother Late Rekha Paul was also a great lover of art who inspired Gautam to become an artist. Gautam is third amongst his three brothers and only sister, Santwana, Ashok, Uttam and Pritam.
Gautam was married to Smita in 1980 and has a daughter who lives in Bangalore with her husband. |
